Maude isn’t sexy, it sells

Five years ago Maude stepped onto the vibrator scene. They did this with an inexplicably cone-shaped vibrator called simply “vibe” (lowercase theirs).

vibe is small. It has no distinct head. It’s plain and gray. It seems to go out of its way to not be sexy.

And yet it works. For an hour and a half without charge, even.

I find it an interesting choice to strip a vibrator of all its flash. Maude calls the industry on its often needless bells and whistles. The point of a vibrator is to vibrate. Why not put that in something so inoffensive looking it can exist outside the sex toy drawer?

Maude is now displayed openly for sale in Sephora, Indigo, and Nordstrom. You can’t exactly do that with a vibrating penis.
